We’ve written about Matthew Mitcham before, and now he’s back in the news!
Mitcham won a Gold Medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, but his victory is bitter-sweet for the gays in America. NBC, the only major network covering the Olympics in the U.S, conveniently skipped any mention of his sexual orientation, and did not show his significant other in the stands, as it had done with so many other athletes.
Mitcham’s story is actually a very intriguing one, but NBC did not do a biographical short on this Gold Medalist, and his sexual orientation have many questioning NBC’s motives.
NBC has yet to comment on this story, but we suspect some foul play!

An olympiad is not a person who takes part in the olympics, it is the period of four years between olympic games. it is sometimes used to refer to the games themselves, but never the athletes.
