Whenever opponents of equal rights for LGBTs squawk about the “gay agenda”, it makes the usual side-eye I cast at fools even more laser-like. Seriously, pinheads referring to a “gay agenda” only sharpens my glare of disdain. It become a fiery heat beam! A DEATH RAY FROM ABOVE (or, rather, beside)! The gay agenda, quite simply, is equal rights. There ya have it. That’s it. We just want the same rights as straight people. To not get fired for being gay. To be able to raise children. To be able to legally marry. We’re not looking to rule the world. We just want our bigotry-free place in it.
So when a stupid site like World Net Daily accuses CBS and the openly gay Neil Patrick Harris of pushing the “gay agenda” in a new Superbowl ad, I am appalled at the stupidity. They are also accusing CBS and Doogie Howser of mocking Christians. Their reasoning stems from Harris being A) openly gay and B) sporting the date of the game in Tim Tebow-inspired eye black in the ad (see above). Tim (my penis’ greatest conundrum) is known for writing Bible verses in his eye black before he takes the field.
“CBS, the television network airing the big game this year, is now using an outspoken homosexual actor to mimic Tebow’s style of trumpeting messages in eyeblack on his face.
One football fan who watched the CBS promo Sunday made the connection between Harris and Tebow, saying, ‘They’re pushing a gay agenda by using him, and they’re mocking Christians at the same time.'”
Actually, its a cheesy marketing gimmick using one of CBS’ most popular television stars. It’s just marketing, you paranoid bigots. It’s 2013. You can use an openly gay actor to sell your big game coverage. Murder She Wrote isn’t on anymore, so they couldn’t use Angela Lansbury (sorry, Dewitt). So they got the next best thing. Employing a gay person isn’t pushing a “gay agenda.” And even if the eyeblack deal was spoofing Tebow….well, it’s a potential meme that’s out there because Tebow brought his religious beliefs into professional sports in a bold way. Everything gets spoofed nowadays. Do you have the Internet?
If you have your own personal “gay agenda”, we want to hear what it is! Tell us in the comments! We’ll Tweet the best ones.

I like what Tebow does. He is using his talent to evangelize the world and spread the good news of Jesus Christ.
Actually, I think they’re right… They are mocking Tebow… And good! Because the guy’s an idiot. If it’s fine and dandy for him to push his religion and anti-abortion opinions down our throat, then they can suck it up if we mock him for it. Fuck off, Tebow. And I can’t even understand for a second what anybody thinks is attractive about him… Both me and my penis agree… But then again, repulsive personalities do tend to deflate boners for me.
Actually, I think they are right… they are mocking Tebow… GOOD! The guy’s an idiot. If it’s fine and dandy for him to shove his religion and anti-abortion opinions down our throats, them it’s equally fine for us to mock him. It’s funny how these evangelicals love free speech so much unless it’s something that’s said against them. Boo-hoo. And can someone please explain why gay guys find him hot…. eww…. me and my penis just don’t get it at all, but then again, repulsive personalities do equal boner-killers for me.
Sadly, it doesn’t matter WHAT NPH and/or CBS would have done; the anti-gay groups would have found SOME way to say we’re pushing that non-existant agenda. All CBS did was take a FOOTBALL-RELATED “gimmick” (the eyeblack), NOT a gay gimmick/agenda, and use it to promote the money attracting viewership of the biggest FOOTBALL game of the year. It just so happens that the celeb they chose is gay. What HAS this world come to?! Next thing you know they’ll use women in sports advertising. If NPH was straight–or they used another straight celeb–or, gasp, the unwed & pregnant Kim Kardashian–not one word would have been uttered by those “christian” groups. Not a word. But let one of “us” do it…..alls I can say is SHUT. THE. F#$K. UP!!!! Amen!
when they announed beyonce was performing her pic was exactly the same thing, with the dates in black…..was hers a blatant attempt at pushing the gay agenda as well? I don’t remember there being any controversy over her pic.
Tim Tebow is not the first or the last athlete to put scripts on his eyeblack, so you Christians out there that feel slighted, get over your selves, your taking yourselves and your religion way to serously
Even if CBS had intentionally mocked Tebow and Christians in general, what I find appalling is that when we do anything it’s “flaunting our lifestyle” or “mocking them and their values”, but for them it’s their “God Given American right to free speech”. I’m kind of used to the bigotry and hatred – It’s the hypocrisy that gets my knickers in a twist. (add link to Kirk Cameron and That hideous Baptist church HERE)
I’m confused. Is this sarcasm?
