It’s hard to think of a more tragic celebrity in recent memory than Anna Nicole. So the creators behind Jerry Springer: The Opera are teaming up once again to focus on the life of the gold digger turned model/reality star.
“The Anna Nicole Show” was a guilty pleasure of mine. I found her ditziness and mishaps endearing, but then her son’s overdose/suicide marked a downward spiral that I believe led to her own demise.
You might think an opera about her life would be cheesy or goofy, but the director of the opera said, “It is not going to be a horrible, sleazy evening. It is not going to be tawdry – it is going to be witty, clever, thoughtful and sad.”
I tend to think that even a serious opera about Anna would be hilarious. An aria about Trim Spa alone would be worth the price of admission.
