Coming out is expected to be difficult, if not traumatic. Fear of judgment, disappointment, the pressure that comes from years of concealing an integral aspect of your life to friends and family…
But once you're out and comfortable that others know, then the turmoil is over, right?
Unfortunately, there's another secret that can be even more debilitating, in part because its stigma is often perpetuated by other gay people.
You might think there's little a drag queen on a reality show would have left to disclose, but that wasn't true for Ongina, a contestant on RuPaul's Drag Race.
– Wilbur
From seeing the way he acts, and is so fun loving, you would not have known he is HIV positive. That was very brave of him to disclose his status on television in front of millions of people. I wish him the best, and hope he continues to live life with a great outlook.
very brave of him indeed, it’s a very brave thing for him to admit. because honestly, if you look at him and then some of the other performers you wouldn’t necesarilly point him out as being hiv positive.
i pray he stays well and continues to prosper
I LOVE THIS SHOW
