“Just Give Me A Reason” brings together the power of two pop music mega-forces with annoyingly stylized names. The song appears on Pink‘s (or, excuse me, P!nk‘s) sixth studio album The Truth About Love, and now, it acts as the follow-up to her most recent radio hits “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” and “Try“.
Guest vocals are provided by Nate Ruess of Fun (or, excuse me, fun.), also known as the band that your ears can’t escape because they are playing everywhere you go, and gosh, why do people like them so much, and am I normal or a huge snob if I intensely despise the quality of his voice, knowing full well that I may be unreasonable in thinking this, and it’s somehow ruined a song by one of my favorite pop artists?!?!? <— Apologies for this almost nonsensical run-on sentence. I have a lot of feelings today.

That bear… the stuff nightmares are made of.
Don’t agree at all with your review, but you know what they say about opinions.
I’m okay with that. A lot of people must enjoy Nate Ruess, because otherwise, fun. wouldn’t be such a popular band. There’s just something about the timbre* of his vocals that gets under my skin. I can’t explain it. It’s just the way it is.
* Am I using that word correctly? Anyone?
Adore, respect and love Pink. Can’t really say the same for Nate, for I do as well find his voice horribly annoying. At first when I heard this song, I thought it was a woman singing with Pink until I realized who it was…but then again, not a fan of fun. either…sounds like a chick to me.
I guess I’m an odd one out – but I have a crush on all the guys in fun, if not for anything, the fact that they are straight allies. I do like Nate’s voice though. I heard this on the album when I got it and it became my favorite song on the album (was going through a tumultuous time with my ex when I heard it as well)
I should stress that I *do* appreciate that they’re straight allies. It just doesn’t help make his voice hurt my ears any less.
