We wrote about Matthew Mitcham being dissed by NBC, and now Gary Zenkel, President of NBC Olympics, is apologizing. The network has come under criticism for not telling Mitcham’s story, which many saw as an attempt to not delve into his sexuality and partner.
Zenke says, "We regret that we missed the opportunity to tell Matthew Mitcham’s story. We apologize for this unintentional omission."
That ‘apology’ seems quite tepid, but at least we know they are paying attention to the criticism, and are less likely to make such an error in the future!
