My niece and her husband are in the Navy and owned a tattoo parlor for several years and her husband was a tattoo artist. They will be the first one to tell you that the majority of people do not realize the permanency and do it on a whim or after just a day or two after deciding to do it. They used to send people away when they thought the person did not fully understand the tattooing process and what, if they decided, it takes to remove them.
