Last night, we received sad news that actor Patrick Swayze passed away after battling pancreatic cancer. He was only 57 years-old. Though he will be remembered primarily for his roles in Ghost and Dirty Dancing, I've always had a huge soft spot for his work in To Wong Foo Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar. As campy as the film was, I will always be impressed by his commitment to playing his drag queen character. What will you remember most about him?

sad indeed…but best to remember his body of work — and of course, my favorite is the HILARIOUS 1990 CHIPPENDALES skit with Chris Farley on SNL. view it on Monday post here:

Oh, i realized i was gay to Patrick Swayze. I was 9 years old, and my sister was watching North and South, and i looked at his face and thought, oh oh… He was my first love.
I’ll probably remember Ghost the most. And that movie where he was a surfer criminal.
I will remember him for Ghost, Dirty Dancing, To Wong Foo Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar, and North and South he was great in all of these movies.
