Who hasn't done it? You're out on the streets walking and you see the hottest man in existence. Trying to be subtle, you take out your phone and discreetly take a picture of him. He might have noticed, but who the hell cares? You've just captured the hottest man in existence on film. Now you can show him off to your friends… or, um, spend some quality "one-on-one" time together.
This candid photo-snapping technique has become a staple on Matthew Rettenmund's Boy Culture blog, to the point that I once joked that MANHUNT Daily should jack his idea and feature our own hotties. In the end, we decided it was too creepy, but what do you think? Is it okay to take pictures of strangers on the street just because you think they're hot?

Actually had this come up recently … was getting some new carpet installed in the basement, and the guys doing the work were quite attractive. I was talking with friends about them, and almost all of them said “So where are the pictures?”. I responded that it would be weird to photograph something so mundane just to get pics of some hotties. I’ll just have to remember to request them when the rest of the house gets done. 😉
I actually have a pretty hot barber and thought about trying to sneak a pic of him while waiting to get my hair cut.
Snapping pics of HOT strangers is a second favorite solo activity of mine. Many have been transformed into Tom of Findland style sketches now. As long as the photographer isn’t someone dressed in black with dark Secret Service type sunglasses or an old pedo in a trenchcoat I would have no objections about having my pic taken by a stranger (rather flattering, actually).
Sorry, call me strange, but I just think it’s sorta creepy…
yea I’ll have to agree with Marc.its kinda weird. Never done it and prob never will. Its creepy.
I’ve definitely arrived if Manhunt (!) is questioning whether anything I do is creepy! :0) Thanks for the link.
I dont believe is creepy to shot strangers, but is creepy to do it hide. I has some few good pics of stranger people on the beach or in parties, or ev’n walking on the street, but I ask them if I could take them a pic. Tough many people say no, many people say yes as well, like is funny a guy asking you that. So, why not?
That Stud Is HOT Damn!
Huge invasion of privacy, and, yes, it’s creepy! As if you’ve never seen a hot guy before that you have to snap photos of random strangers? You should always ask because you never know what people will do with those photos.
Here’s a story for you. This past January I was in Boston at the NE Aquarium with a friend of mine from Italy. He saw two guys that he thought were hot and started taking photos of them “secretly” or so he thought. Well…they went BALISTIC and started yelling at us when they caught on. I didn’t realize my friend was doing it because I was engrossed in the penguins. My friend was lucky because he didn’t understand a word they said, but I got an earful. I was really embarrassed, took my friend’s camera, purged the photos and apologized. Then I screamed at my friend for being a freak! Not to mention that the two guys made such a scene and, in my opinion, overreacted. But I understood why they were pissed.
People are more observant than you think!
I soooooo do that! I love that it is a topic! I didnt know other people did it that much!!!
Totally creepy. Complete invasion of privacy.
It’s immature. Like something a 12 year old Japanese girl would do. Frees the photographer of all dignity (and thusly all sex appeal).
But still, sort of flattering in a strange way to be hot enough that you have creepy horny guys taking your picture in the street.
I prefer using a pocket camcorder with a 10x-20x optical zoom. But if you want to get close, Just go by and pretend your playing with the settings, and unless they own the same camcorder, they probably won’t be able to tell your recording.
And then you just take screen caps from the video.
In this day and age of every business using cameras for security purposes, we’re ALL being photographed whether we like it or not. Everybody becomes an unwilling participant.
Yes it’s creepy. It’s stalking and sexual harassment really because of WHY you’re taking the picture.
I’d be flattered if someone did this but I still think its a little weird.
Kinda of creepy but who cares.. if i take a photo of u.. u should be proud.. I mean.. that says that u r cute enough to belong to my collection of random strangers 🙂
