A few weeks ago, I started having trouble breathing at the gym. Scratch that. I felt like my stomach was going to fall out of my butt. No, scratch that. Oh, whatever! The main thing that you need to know is that I felt absolutely miserable in every imaginable way, so I decided to end my workout early and hit the showers.
As I began washing off, a man in black shorts followed right behind me. I thought nothing of it. Duh, people shower at the same time! It wasn’t until I started soaping up my balls that I got this very distinct impression I was being watched…
Sure enough, Mr. Black Shorts was staring in my direction the whole entire time. I turned back quickly, worried that my glance might imply I was interested in a little locker room action. Which isn’t to say I haven’t ever been curious about such an experience. But, well, there was just something weird about this guy!
Before I even had an opportunity to get thoroughly creeped out, I started to feel faint and ran into the sauna to sit down. The aforementioned man turned off the shower and disappeared. And then he reappeared, immediately after another man started taking a shower. I could see him from the sauna. This pattern continued for at least three or four cycles.
There was something so desperate about the situation that I couldn’t stop staring at him, well, staring. This was obviously the worst idea ever, because now it really set into his brain that I was interested. He took off his black shorts, bent over to “soap his leg” and used his other hand to spread his cheeks towards me. At that point? I got up and left.
Sure, this may not be the sexiest story I’ve ever shared with you, but it’s been sticking with me all this time. I really needed to get it off my chest! With that said, where do you think the line is drawn between “cruising” someone and practically stalking them? Have you ever had a similar experience?

Eh, it’s a little creepy/desperate, especially if he wasn’t that good looking. If he was hot, I might forgive him a little bit, and even egg him on as I sat in the sauna.
I think has to do with the person that is interested in u… once I saw this guy at the gym looking at me… he saw me adjusting myself in front of the mirror and he thought I was playing with myself…
he just stood there with the biggest hard on, tenting his shorts..
I went to the gym to work out and he positioned himself right in front of me (I was on the treadmill, he on a bike)… by then his hard on was poking out of his shorts, it was both creepy and funny…
eventually the creepiness turned into excitement (he was good looking, just not my type)… he followed me to the sauna, and then to the shower, both places where he was jerking off openly…. then he followed me to lockers and stood very close to me…
when we walked out of the gym I asked what he was doing, if he wanted to come to my place to finish off, and he told me he could not, because he was in a committed relationship…….

I think it’s all about both how obvious you are, and how long you do it for. There are guys in my gym’s locker room you see there every day hanging out for literally hours, (the same guys all the time). That’s creepy. I’ve cruised some at my gym, but I don’t stay there all day, and I won’t follow somebody around the entire time either. I think we’ve all done this to some degree, so none of us can really throw stones.
To be quite honest I can’t see WHAT you are making such a drama about. OK the guy seems to have been a little obvious in his leering, but perhaps he is new to the game or never seen a dick like yours or any other. Can you honestly say you’ve never perved someone at a gym before??!!

I think it comes down to the intentions of both parties. If both of you are cruising, then it’s probably not so creepy. Any unwanted advances can be creepy whether in a gym locker room or sipping a cocktail at the bar in your local watering hole while some guy sits at the other end of the bar staring at you for hours.

Well in a way it is a little desperate to get attention. Some men just have not sense of class and being subtle. There is showing interest and then in this case just down right ” I want you too fuck me” offer. Some guys just are upfront about what they want and who they want it from.
Getting hit on is one thing. But when the first thing out of their mouth is suggesting they just want to sleep with you. The art of saying hi and making conversation is getting lost it seems.
This Gym scenario would make me a little uneasy and slightly turned off.
IMHO, your whole “creeped out” thing was based on the fact that you felt sick, and unable to put the usual effort into blowing someone off without being a jerk about it. It was “creepy” only because you felt so obviously sick and not into sex — but HE didn’t know this and cruised you in a “normal” fashion.

I rarely shower at the gym since I live close enough to just shower at home, so It’s not an issue for me. At some gyms that I use to work out at I would be followed into the locker room sometimes when I got to the gym and then again when I would re-dress after my workout. These guys would cruise the entire gym. They would actually see a hot guy and a group of two to four of them would literally make there way over to where he was working out and start a conversation among themselves while checking him out. As far as me cruising. I can check out a guy in mere seconds either on the gym floor or in the locker room while changing. Mirrors are a great way of doing it in a locker room where you can quickly check out the goods.

I had one experience where an “gentleman”, I’d say late 40s early 50s, quite fit and not bad looking, was obviously cruising the gym’s shower and sauna. He would spend 15 minutes or so in the steam room, spend 15 minutes in the shower and then do it again.
Now me being my 24 yd old self at the time and a major nerd thought he was honestly doing a pore cleanse, like opening them up in the sauna and then clearing them out in the shower and doing a rinse and repeat. Now myself at the time I loved being in the steam room so I would spend 30 minutes plus at a time in there, go for a swim in the pool and do it again because was relaxing.
So finally the “gentleman” was wearing nothing but his boner and we were alone in the steam room, I didn’t know what to do, but I do know I was hard as a rock, so I started stroking mine as well.

This happened to me at the locker rooms at my college. There was an older man that would always be in the shower area. He would usually walk around the locker room when it was busy, fully clothed and “Talking on the phone” This one time there was a really nicely built guy undressing and he stuck around him as he talked on the phone. I walked by him to get to my locker and then i saw he wasn’t talking, he was taking pictures with his phone. There was another instance when i was coming into the locker room from a work out and he was sitting on a bench taking pictures of a guy showering. This one instance i was showering and he comes in and gets the shower head across the shower room. He just keeps staring at me as i go through the motions of showering. He then got hard and started jerking off. I sorta realized i was staring and looked away. This was weird to me, i have never seen someone do that (cruise i mean). he then motioned me to go over to him and i just looked away, he then began to walk towards me. at that moment i got my stuff and left. As i was getting dressed in the locker rooms. he walks out of the shower and goes to his locker. about 1 or 2 mintues later a guy walks into the showers and turns on a faucet. The creepy guy follows him in. After that i don’t know what happened because i left. The experience was creepy.
I’m not really a “in public” kind of person. Be it you “creeping” from a stranger or being overly physical with someone you know. So yeah… I was creeped out before he followed you any further =/
I’ve been “cruised” at the gym and a lot of other places so, I go by the rule: “You can look but, you can’t touch, UNLESS you’re invited” 😉

It’s not coincidence that most of these stories of gym/locker room cruising involve someone “older” (while for many fags “older” means >30, I suspect they actually mean >50 here! LOL). This is HOW many of that generation “cruised” and met guys: for whatever reason they didn’t have/couldn’t go to gay bars, there was NO such thing as the internet, and certainly nothing like skype where you could literally “creep” on people. Other than checking out the hotties, the act of “cruising” involved eye contact, nods, and other body language (eg. tugging on Mr. Happy) to gauge if there was mutual interest and a desire to go further.
I guess if it’s not coming in as a txt or through an iPod, today’s generation is rather oblivious… 😉 LOL

“Creepiness” is only inversely proportional to our level of attraction to the culprit. Of course there’s always the exception of truly weird behavior, attractive person or not (although too much weirdness is not attractive for most people usually so the premise still stands).
There is this weirdo in the Vanderbijlpark Virgin Active gym that does exactly the same thing. Now, I’m far from being a greek god but hell, every time I turn my back he is there! I thought I was alone until I found out that he was doing he creepy thing to a few of my str8 friends as well. Well, that won’t end very nicely as he is gonna get a “poes klap” before he’s able to explain himself! Damn perverts!
I dont have an issue with cruising at the gym. It goes on in some degree in nearly every gym I have joined. What annoys me to no end is the guys who do NOTHING but cruise, all fuckin day long! It’s fascinating to see. In the shower, out of the shower, in the steam room out of the steam room, back in shower, back at his locker, then back in the steam room, and it so it goes for hours upon hours. They are almost always out of shape, with a big, fat bellie and or ugly as sin and with a very high opinion of themselves no doubt!
I had almost this same conversation at work this past week, about how we would let someone get away with somethings when they are good looking, and a less attractive person we would have arrested for the same thing.
I don’t think it is flawed, because I have seen some good looking guys think that because they are so good looking and get whatever they want, that a no does sometimes mean no.

isn’t that how a proper Sauna is supposed to work? You sit in them for a while, then cool down, then go back in the Sauna then cool down, and repeat as many times as you want, in Finland they run naked outside and roll in the snow.

The rule of thumb should be that if whatever you are doing wouldn’t arouse a straight guys suspicions then it is fine, anything beyond that which is not reciprocated is creepy.
Been there, experienced that and discovered if you look them in the eye and shake your head no they just stop and look for others to annoy. If they continue, a quick word with management will stop the problem. Sure there are the rare occasion I look them in the eye and given a quick nod, but that is for another post.
BTW, My gym does not allow cell-phones in the locker room. If I see someone with a phone out, they will be reminded of the rule and management would be informed. I am far from shy, but who needs some idiot posting their picture on the web.

I was out with my boyfriend one day last summer and we were in a video store (yes, a legit video store with four walls!!) and they had a bag section with some adult videos and we were feeling dorky and inappropriate so we went back there and were just browsing the racks. Now, this video store was in a very gay-friendly part of town and there was a backroom where stuff happened, but my boyfriend and I are in there, holding hands, and the man literally stood next to us with his hand in his pants jerking off. I definitely made eye contact and then we walked away, so he walked around the other way, came up to us again, and did the same thing. Even after telling the man that we weren’t there to fool around, he went to the main section of the video store and did it again.

I think the thing is for me, it’s not pointing out someone who is fat and cruising it’s just that I personally go to the gym to work out and sure check out a few people, but when you are going to the gym to work out for 10 min and then spend the whole 3 hrs after that trying to get some, maybe you should take it to a bathhouse or something. I’m not some muscle bunny by any means, but I just think if you going to spend all that time and money for the gym at least get a good little work out in before you go spending your hours cruising.
I once had a moment where I just felt disgusting and creeped out.
I was going to my school gym somewhat early not with all the early birds, trying to get healthy and all that jazz. I went to the showers and a few fellows where there and there were some lookers and others I didn’t think were my taste, but I take a peek and then move along my way never linger even if they show interest, it’s not my style. Well I went for the sauna and I was much more naive then and this guy who was across from me in the showers comes in a moment or so after and I don’t make eye contact or even talk to him and he starts a conversation that’s fine, I’m not rude. I had my eyes somewhat closed and I hear him scooting closer and open my eyes completely and he has stood up to stand in front of me to “read my tattoo” on my shoulder and he has a hard on and precum dripping on my leg, I just said excuse me got out showered the nasty of my leg and booked it out of there, but before I had left he said to me hey lets go and find a nice little place for us, I think he thought I was going to find that spot instead I ran home and never went back to that gym and just started jogging outdoors and showering at my apartment.
