Salma Hayek was recently on a goodwill visit to Sierra Leone, one of poorest nations in the world. While there she met a sick one week old child whose mother had no milk to feed the baby. Salma had a child last year, and since she still had breast milk, she breastfed the child herself while Nightline was filming.
Salma says, "The baby was perfectly healthy, but the mother didn't have milk. He was
very hungry. I was weaning Valentina, but I still had a lot of milk
that I was pumping, so I breast-fed the baby. You should have seen his
eyes. When he felt the nourishment, he immediately stopped crying."
Some people may say she's just trying to get some good publicity, but I think she did it out of the goodness of her heart, especially being a new mom herself. I thought it a good example on how one person can help another, even on a small scale. What do you guys think of her actions?

That seems very personal, but if the child’s mother was OK with it, I think it was a very cool thing for her to do.
I agree, the child was hungry and the mom barren of milk (probably due to mal-nutrition). It’d be nice if more people could do things like this for one another…
That was an amazing thing she did. I didn’t know that a woman could breast feed another womans baby, now I know.
Never heard of a wet nurse?
