Ever since Sean Cody started producing bareback porn at the end of 2011, studio after studio has slowly but surely given into “consumer demand” (i.e., “started running out of money”) and jumped on the bb bandwagon. Today’s new entry to the wonderful world of bareback porn is Next Door Studios, with a scene entitled “Suck“. Unfortunately, Next Door Studios’ President Stephan Sirard might not be around to produce any more bareback scenes, since he’s due in court on murder charges.
Well, not technically. But if Sirard had his way, he and his company would actually be in a lot of trouble for filming their new bareback 3-way. In 2009, Next Door Studios’ Sirard was interviewed for The Advocate about the importance of condoms and STD testing in porn, and when asked specifically about the best way to keep performers safe, he replied:
“Studios that don’t use condoms and don’t test should be in court for murder.”
When pressed about a potential mandatory condom law for the entire porn industry (which was not yet a reality in 2009), Sirard went on to assert:
“The gay market could take the lead in this and say, ‘You guys do what you want, but we’re going to test and use condoms.’ Maybe that would change the vision of the straight market… My assets are not in my bank account. My assets are the performers.”
Well, a lot can change in four years (e.g., principles, standards, a person’s moral code), so be sure to check out Sirard’s “assets” fucking each other without condoms on Next Door Buddies. The trio includes gay-for-pay performers Slate Steele, Cole Christiansen and Austin Storm, and before they have unprotected sex, they shave each other’s nipples and deep-throat some popsicles while listening to some awful French music. In an alternate universe, the end of the trailer when Steele dismissively throws away the condom is also the beginning of a PSA on HIV/AIDS prevention. Really nice touch.
No word on when, or if, Stephan Sirard will be charged with murder.

Of all the ridiculous… so I guess straight porn providers should be charged as well?
You’ve missed a key part of his statement. Since you were so kind as to quote it — despite missing the key part — here it is again: ““Studios that don’t use condoms and don’t test should be in court for murder.”
The operative term there is, “AND”. He didn’t say, “or”. The studio may not have used condoms for the scene but did they test? We probably shouldn’t assume they did but it would be nice to find out before you start calling him a hypocrite and launch a crusade.
Sorry, you make the point against your own argument. “And” means both. “Or” mean one of them. We have photo/video proof they did not use condoms. Whether they tested or not, he is a hypocrite for not having his assets use condoms.
It depends on where the conjunction appears in the sentence. You would be correct if he had said:
“Studios that don’t use condoms and test should be tried in court for murder.”
In that case, he’s stating that they need to do both. Because the conjunction is later in the sentence, it could be one or the other. It changes to mean that studios who don’t use condoms need to test or be tried for murder.
Of course, this is all going off one sentence. Context is critical. I just read the entire article that the quotes came from and his intent was definitely on it being both rather than either/or.
It can’t technically be murder unless person one knows that they have AIDS then has unprotected sex with person two who is not told by person one that they are positive then person two gets infected. It’s almost like playing a dirty version of Russian Roulette. You know that the gun is fully loaded but you let the guy infront of you pull the trigger anyway.
Given the post about Dennis Cooper’s work yesterday, and the tag line below the video here, as well as recent theoretical work on barebacking, I’m left wondering whether the flirtation with/spectre of death/murder isn’t part of the thrill of bareback porn. It’s interesting, for example, that Bound Gods still always uses condoms. Does the S/m content of their videos serve a similar kind of need that the absence of condoms does in more vanilla vids?
Slate Steele isn’t gay for pay…He is bisexual
I actually like the music better than the porn. Anybody know the artist/song name?
The only reason they are going bareback is because of the plethora of porn that’s out there that all looks the same.
Stephen Sirad I join your site because of your NO BARE BACKING policy simply put Mr.Sirad the same way I join your site because of your no BB I am CANCELING your site because of your BARE BACKING policy .and one more thing like I told DUCK FACE Lucas when his site went BARE BACK FUCK U ! YOU HYPERCRITICAL SON OF A BITCH !!!
omg: most boring thing I have ever seen
This is absolutely rediculous.. I work in acute care rehab for tramatic brain injury and stroke.. It if only the the gay world could see the affects HIV/AIDs has on those I treat daily.. My youngest patient is 26, with HIV dementia secondary to a cold flu he presented at the doctors office.. He’s one of many different cases I see daily. I can’t believe how serious we don’t take this sometimes. Sure it’s treatable, until you have other ailments that throw you off the “treatment” path. I love porn as much as the next guy, but I just get so upset when this happens.. And that blatant scene, throwing out the comdom, ugh.. The subtle and not-so-subtle influences it has on our community! It’s a damn shame. Come on guys!
You Grammar Nazis never get over yourselves…do you?
I don’t care about grammer or the lack of condom… I want Slate Steele to fuck me!
If the viewing public didn’t watch these productions, there would be no need to shoot them. Too many fans for porn, want to push the limits, as long as they don’t have to do it. (So, we pay for it…) If we all stop watching, it would soon be a thing of the past….We all want a little danger in our lives, so as long as we have this mentality, Aids will never ever go a way…We all think it is never going to happen to me, so why worry……?
the scene is HOT! People need to chill out and this blog was really outrageous!
Can those really sleazy bareback companies that produce those breeding/seeding videos with those psychotic bug chasers that want to get infected be charged with murder/attempted murder? Just curious.

I think he’s pointing out the grammar issue from a legal standpoint in light of the “studios who don’t use condoms and don’t test should be in court for murder”…which is ridiculous statement!
Sad attempt at a “story” – Sirard is quoted as saying that if they film bareback AND DON’T TEST…. which NDB has always done, even for condom scenes. Click on a “bareback” logo on of of their scene thumbnails and there’s a whole page about it. Shame you can’t be charged with ignorant sensationalism and inventing stories that aren’t there. Slow homo-news day, or just slow reporter?
“Slow homo-news day, or just slow reporter?”
Says the person who’s commenting three months later on a story from October 17th.
The conjunction is no later in the second sentence than it is in the first. You just took out the second instance of the word “don’t” (which is after the conjunction anyway).
If you want to convey meaning, and have your thoughts be understood correctly, it’s pretty important to use proper grammar. Of course there’s the old joke about a comma saving lives:
Let’s eat, Grandma!
vs.
Let’s eat Grandma!
Although Next Door has done many videos with condoms, they did a few bareback vids some time back: “Alex and Iggy” and “Louis and Pascal.”
