Stars like Brad Pitt have donated to fight California’s Proposition 8 but there are many notable gay celebrities that have yet to donate. Ellen DeGeneres comes to mind, especially since she got married after the May court decision striking down the last ban on same-sex marriage.
But where are Lance Bass, Neil Patrick Harris, George Takei (who also married his partner), and so many others? Hopefully they are aware that ‘No’ on Prop. 8 needs donations badly because they are being outraised 3 to 2 by the supporters of the ban.
But in some good news for opponents of Prop. 8, a recent Field poll found that opposition has gone up from 51% to 55% from July. 38% are in favor of the ban and 7% undecided.
While this is a great starting point, the undecideds as well as those who lie to pollsters to be politically correct need to be taken into account. I would hate to see Californians be given this right only to have it taken away a few months later, so donate here, if you are able.
