Gay porn stars aren’t always the best actors. You don’t have to visit My Husband Is Gay or Bang Me Sugar Daddy more than once to figure that out. Often, these guys are victims to outrageous scenarios or poorly-scripted dialogue, but on the other hand, most of them just aren’t trained for the task at hand. Face it! A degree from Juilliard isn’t required to slurp dicks on the internet, and most of us are just going to fast-forward through the plot and skip to the fucking. You have to be nice to look at. You have to (usually) be good at sex. But, in most cases, you don’t have to be the next Robert De Niro to become the next Mike De Marko.
Some of us, however, prefer porn that tells a story.
You’ll get that with Rock Candy Films‘ new flick The Horseman, which stars Logan Vaughn as a married man who falls for his ranch worker Jake (as played by Tommy Defendi). This comes from the same people who brought you 2012’s My Mother’s Lover. They make a point to focus on raw passion rather than animalistic sexual energy, depicting their characters having sex the way they’d probably do it in real life. There’s no bad music or awkward jump cuts, and you won’t see them experimenting with positions like the Upside-Down Lobster Felcher. Also? Based on the trailer, the acting isn’t terrible. No, really! I’m serious.
