I’m waiting for the day when a big, established movie star finally comes out. I think there’s going to be a huge scandal for 5 minutes, and then nobody’s going to care. We’re already seeing more and more openly gay male TV stars, often playing straight characters, and viewers are totally accepting. The time is just about right for a box office superstar to do the same. And from then on it’s going to be a non-issue and our kids will find the concept of “coming out” totally foreign since they’ll be used to people just being who they are from the beginning.
