I’m a huge fan of scary movies, and there’s no better time to watch them than on Halloween! So here is a list of my five favorite horror films:
1. Halloween (1978) definitely deserves the top honor. The horror classic redefined the slasher film genre and brought us one of the scariest masked psychopaths of all time in Michael Meyers
For numbers 2-5, follow the JUMP:
2. A Nightmare on Elm Street comes in at number two! The terrifying Freddy Krueger has been haunting our dreams since 1984, and the first in the series is certainly the scariest.
3. The Strangers is the most recent film on our list, but we couldn’t let its youth disqualify this horrifying thriller. The three masked strangers that slowly taunt and torture a couple have definite potential to become horror classics.
4. The Exorcist is one of the creepiest movies of all time. With so many classic scenes and scares, there is little need to explain its placement on the list.
5. The Shining is one of Stanley Kubrick‘s masterpieces. In this classic, tortured writer Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) is driven to insanity by evil spirits in one hell of a creepy hotel in the middle of nowhere, need I say more?
There you have it, if you plan on spending Halloween night at home with a scary movie, one of these will serve you well. Happy Halloween!
