We’re not gonna act like this post isn’t just an excuse to post pictures of Scott, a scruffy blue-eyed straight dude whose tattoos will probably piss off half of you. With that said, we couldn’t resist revisiting this topic! We wrote a while back about using professional shots in your Manhunt profile, sparking a debate on whether it’s worth the effort of hiring a photographer.
As previously mentioned, professional shots can occasionally be more flattering than your standard web-cam snapshot. Yet they sometimes run the risk of looking too good, to the point that your potential partner might think you’re a fake.
What are your thoughts on this topic? If you saw a profile with nothing but glossy studio pics, would you be less or more inclined to hook up with that guy? Keep in mind that your physical attraction (or lack thereof) to Scott shouldn’t influence your decision. He’s just here to provide an example. A really fucking hot example…

I usually don’t mind tats, but these took awful. I don’t know anything trashier than neck & face tats.
I saw three separate profiles with professional photos on my Grindr today, which is the most I’ve ever seen in this small town. It looks good. As long as the guys don’t look like models themselves, it’s obviously real, and they probably just have a buddy who’s a photographer. I have also called “fake” on some perfect photos that turned out to be real, but in retrospect, you can tell the real ones, because they post “only looking for HOT guys” or something. The fake ones just have a perfect pic and don’t post anything.

This is a stupid vote. If the guy can prove he is real there is no issue. Personally I assume anyone with either all professional pics, only one picture, or a profile with “Ask Me” for all their responses is completely fake; 99% of the time they are. People steal pictures all the time. I have “met” myself online six times, twice on Manhunt alone.

I have professional pics cause I do them as a part of my job; but I also put a few normal pics as well. I think if you have a mix of professional and natural, its better than just having professional; cause there are unfortunately some people out there that put up fake photos and you have to be certain who you’re talking to…

but be prepared to prove you’re not a fake; it would help your cause if you declare, in your advert text, your acknowledgement of the kind of photography employed, and how you can imagine how it might cause some people “pause,” but that you just had something professionally done, and didn’t want your money gone to pot.
