Australian folk-pop singer Vance Joy tells the story of a unreciprocated gay crush in the music video for “From Afar”. However, if you think that’s the story here, then you’ve got another thing coming for you. The thing is? Vance Joy is really, really good. A couple of music blogs I follow have sung the praises of his single “Riptide”, but it took an e-mail from our wonderful Manhunt rep in Taiwan (previously mentioned here) to make me take notice.
After listening to both songs mentioned above, I spent the whole morning scrambling about to find a way to purchase the full EP, God Loves You When You’re Dancing. It appears it is only available in Australia, and if you have any (legal) tips on how to acquire it, they would be appreciated very much.

That’s just heart breaking
I checked out his website (which I’m sure you did as well), but it does appear you can purchase the album from his online store (clock PHYSICAL (Global) – Vance Joy Merchandise Store). I read all the shipping and payment information. Apparently they cannot accept credit cards from any countries other Aus/NZ, US, and the UK. Orders from other countries have to use PayPal. That suggests to me that you can buy it there and I will be making a new music purchase this weekend. =)
Absolutely love these songs! From Afar is the story of my life, so it kind of bummed me out…but I still would listen to these guys all day. Thanks Dewitt!
