Aside from vampires, another entertainment phenomenon that is making a comeback is the Variety Show! Three high-profile one-time variety shows will debut next week.
Ellen DeGeneres, Rosie O'Donnell, and Stephen Colbert are the three comedians hosting variety shows. Rosie O'Donnell is doing Rosie Live, premiering November 26 on NBC.
For Ellen's part, Ellen's Even Bigger
Really Big Show will be on November 29 on TBS, and will feature performers of all stripes, from magicians to comedians.
Last but not least, is Colbert's A Colbert Christmas, which will be on Comedy Central
November 23, and is a satirical take on Christmas specials.
All of these shows look like they have potential to be great fun, and if they do well in the ratings I bet we'll be back to the days when Variety ruled prime-time.
