Weekly Top Ten: Enter Ms. Kelly

WeeklyTopTen-34

I command you to dance! Lady Gaga may have even more competition on Manhunt Daily's Weekly Top Ten, as Kelly Rowland makes her debut with "Commander". The song finds the former Destiny's Child member pairing up yet again with French producer David Guetta, who previously worked with her on last summer's "When Love Takes Over". Can Kelendria make it to the top? That's for you to decide…

However, we can tell you who won't be making it to the top. Katie Melua, Macy Gray, Ciara and Kimberly Cole couldn't wrangle up enough votes to stay in the mix, so wave your goodbyes as they fade into the past. They're joined in the loser's circle by M.I.A. and Esmee Denters, who both failed to gain enough momentum in the Wild Card round.

If you're a Weekly Top Ten virgin, join me on my roof as I explain the rules to you. Each week you'll be presented with ten songs. You get to vote for up to three that you'd like to see move on to the next week. From those results, we'll take the five tunes with the highest percentages, a song we save and four other contributions. These selections will make up the following week's charts.

Wishing there was a "none of the above" option? Well, quit your bitching and tell us what you want to see on the charts by leaving a suggestion in the comments. We listen to nearly every song you recommend, and if we think it'll have a chance… you might see it here next time around!

To check out the charts and vote, follow the JUMP:

  1. Lady Gaga f/ Beyonce – Telephone (LW – 1, W8): It's been eight weeks since this song made its debut, and it's been undefeated ever since hitting the number one spot. Is it possible that Gaga and Beyonce will stay strong until they're retired in twelve weeks?
  2. Christina Aguilera – Not Myself Tonight (LW – 2, W5): Love it or hate it, Christina's latest music video certainly got people talking about her again. She comes in second place for another week in a row, with seemingly no hope of reaching top. Better luck with the next single, Ms. Aguilera…
  3. Scissor Sisters – Invisible Light (LW – 3, W3): With a little help from Sir Ian McKellen, the Scissor Sisters remain in the competition with this dark disco jam. Apparently, this isn't even the first official single, so we're excited to see what they come up with next!
  4. Robyn – Dancing On My Own (LW – 7, W2): I guess you guys prefer when the dance floor's a little sadder? Robyn ties with the Scissor Sisters for the bronze medal, as the Swedish pop star prepares herself for the release of Body Talk Pt. 1.
  5. Kelis – Acapella (LW – 4, W5): Kelis may have slipped down one notch, but at least she's still in the game. And with good reason! This uplifting dance track has been making speakers bump in every gay club across the nation. Work it out, girl!
  6. Robin Thicke f/ Estelle – Rollacoasta (LW – 5, W6): Robin Thicke will let you do whatever you want to him. Slap him in his face? Sure! Punch him in his eye? Of course! But voting him off the charts is out of the question. Though he's safe this week after a tie with Kelis, his luck may be running out.
  7. Kelly Rowland – Commander (DEBUT): Kelly Rowland wants you to dance, and she's not taking no for an answer. After the success of "When Love Takes Over" on last summer's charts, we think Gaga and Christina may need to watch their backs.
  8. Jennifer Lopez – On The Radio (WILD CARD): We're not sure how someone with no vocal talent could take a cover of Donna Summer's classic track and make it their own, but this one works way better than you'd expect. Looks like J. Lo may be back on the map!
  9. David Guetta f/ Chris Willis – Gettin' Over (DEBUT): Several requests had been made for this song, but we just can't seem to get into it. Maybe it'll sound better if you have sex with us? Wait, what do you mean, "no"? I guess it was worth a try…
  10. Alexandra Burke f/ Pitbull – All Night Long (WILD CARD): This one has grown on us since the Wild Card round, and we thought we'd include it after the overwhelming positive feedback in the comments. Could Alexandra finally break into the US market with this upbeat club anthem? It's impossible to say.

  1. Robyn, Kelly and Kelis for me. All oustanding and very distinct. Kudos, ladies!

  2. Guetta, Robyn and Alexandra are my votes for this week. I like it seeing the chart being more dance oriented now that summer is around the corner. How ’bout Jipsta’s “Nasty Boy” to add to the mix? Just a suggestion. Check the Jaime J Sanchez Edit.

  3. Gaga and Xtina – I didn’t like “Not Myself Tonight” at first, but it’s really grown on me recently. And “Telephone” is just a classic at this point.

  4. if manhunt is going to catch bieber fever then why not do a wildcard this week of justin bieber song? have “never let you go”, “somebody to love”, “baby” “overboard” go head to head and see which track comes out on top
Voted Kelly Rowland, Christina and Kelis
