Our quest for the 2010 Song of Summer continues, and it seems that Kylie Minogue might have this contest in the bag. A good portion of her thirteen weeks on our Weekly Top Ten countdown have been spent perched above her competitors. But could another song steal the title at the last minute?
Well, it won’t be Christina Aguilera, Usher, Shontelle or Ke$ha. These four singers failed to receive enough votes to stay on the countdown, so they were sent packing along with Wild Card rejects Graffiti6, Diana Vickers and Katy B.
So how does this all work? If you’re a Weekly Top Ten virgin, gaze into Bo Berta‘s beautiful eyes while I explain the rules to you. Each week you’ll be presented with ten songs. You get to vote for up to three that you’d like to see move on to the next week. From those results, we’ll take the five tunes with the highest percentages, a song we save and four other contributions. These selections will make up the following week’s charts.
Wishing there was a “none of the above” option? Well, quit your bitching and tell us what you want to see on the charts by leaving a suggestion in the comments. We listen to nearly every song you recommend, and if we think it’ll have a chance… you might see it here next time around!

To check out the charts and vote, follow the JUMP:
- Kylie Minogue – All The Lovers (LW – 2, 13): The Australian dance diva has reclaimed her thrown atop the charts, and she’s another step closer to taking the official 2010 Song of Summer title. With seven weeks left before this song’s retired from the countdown, we can’t wait to see where this goes.
- Lady Gaga – Alejandro (LW – 1, W11): Listen up, all you little monsters! You were only thirteen votes away from maintaining your queen’s number one spot, and you’ve failed miserably in accomplishing this mission. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
- Adam Lambert – If I Had You (LW – 3, W9): This is definitely a record for Adam. You’ve kicked most of his other songs to the curb, but this one has stuck around on the charts for nine weeks in a row! It warms my heart to see you supporting a fellow lover of the cock.
- Katy Perry – Teenage Dream (LW – 4, W3): In case you didn’t notice, we’ve updated Katy’s link to include the official music video for “Teenage Dream”. Now you can see her fake love interest Josh Kloss in action! Isn’t it a shame that he got voted off The Ten?
- Robyn – Hang With Me (LW – 6, W3): Victory is ours! We’ve been pushing hard to make Robyn one of this summer’s frontrunners, but she keeps slipping off the charts. Let’s not repeat history this time around. A vote for “Hang With Me” is a vote for the most underrated pop artist on this countdown.
- Freemasons f/ Wynter Gordon – Believer (LW – 7, W2): Did you honestly believe that I’d save Ke$ha? We’ve laid out the rules in the past. If you don’t vote her into the top five, we’re not saving her. Give the Freemasons and Wynter Gordon another chance! We promise they’re a lot better than “Take It Off”.
- Taylor Swift – Mine (DEBUT): It’s good to know that I’m not the only one who thinks this sounds like a mash-up of every single song in Taylor Swift’s repertoire. However, that hasn’t stopped it from debuting at number three on the Billboard charts…
- David Archuleta – Something ‘Bout Love (DEBUT): Most of you dismissed this song as a “teeny bopper” anthem. Some of you implied I was a pedophile for turning the nineteen year-old Archuleta into a “piece of meat”. And a good majority of you didn’t approve when I said I’d pound his twinky boy pussy. Pssh, whatever!
- Janelle Monae – Cold War (WILD CARD): Apologies to all the Graffiti6 or Diana Vickers fans! Neither of your selections stood a chance next to Ms. Monae’s creative blend of pop, rock and R&B. She took over fifty-percent of the votes in the Wild Card round, so it’s safe to say she deserved this spot on the countdown.
- Cazwell – Ice Cream Truck (DEBUT): Look, I’m not going to pretend that this song is decent in any way, shape or form. But people are still talking about the music video. Can this homo-hopper utilize sex appeal to make up for his utter lack of talent?
My full support is behind Adam Lambert, Katy Perry and David Archuleta. These songs are in heavy rotation on my ipod and I am loving it!!!
I voted for Kylie because she’s the queen of this summer. For Katy because Josh Kloss is one hot MF and for Cazwell because even if he doesn’t have talent, he has good taste in yummy boys with yummy asses. I love that Ice Cream Truck video.
My suggestion for the Wild Card next week is “Beautiful Monster” by Ne-Yo which is the current #1 in the UK. It has great remixes by Tony Moran and Mixin Marc.
Kylie ALL THE WAY!!!
That is until Britney or Madonna come out with something new!
Get it on gurls 😉
can’t wait for britney’s new song.
but britney is an fall girl, she always releases her new stuff around sep-nov.
voted for taylor and gaga ^_^
I love Janelle! I hope she sticks around for a bit.
Cazwell got my vote. Those boys in the vid are cute, and the song is kinda damn catchy.
a great live performance of ‘All the lovers’ in Coliseum, Italy

I love Kylie to death. I also voted for Katy and Cazwell. I agree with the suggestion for Beautiful Monster. I think is a song that has been criminally ignored by American radio, but it has the potential to be an international hit for Ne-Yo.
Let’s get Ne-Yo in the chart. The Tony Moran mix is a club banger. I am loving the Katy Perry video and can’t have enough of Cazwell and his ice cream boys.
Ne-Yo “Beatiful Monster” was featured already I think and it got a lukewarm reception.
I think Ne-Yo’s song was posted on the Aural Only section, but never made it to the countdown. I could be wrong, but it’s worth giving it a second chance since Scissor Sisters, La Roux and Enrique Iglesias all had another opportunity and the second time proved to be better for them than the first. My votes go to Kylie, Cazwell and to Katy Perry and her sexy video.
I am personally very glad to see that that drugged-up skank Ke$ha is off the top ten. It really saddens me that because she whines on about alcohol and partying, she’s considered even remotely close to a music artist.
Can we please give “Blind” by Ke$ha a chance?! I know she’s not your favorite.. but the song is seriously amazing!! It’s my new power anthem and it helped me get over a really bad break-up! Let’s give the girl a chance! haha. Please!
GAGA.
