Weekly Top Ten: Pink’s Fuckin’ Perfect Takeover

Well, isn’t this fuckin’ perfect? After last week’s huge victory for Britney Spears, it seems that Pink has stolen the top spot on our Weekly Top Ten countdown. We had our fingers crossed that this would happen! I mean, it’s not like we have anything “against” Ms. Spears and her latest dub-step inspired single. We just happen to really love a good pop diva showdown! So without further ado, let the games begin…

You may notice that a few key players are missing from this week’s charts. We hope you weren’t too attached to David Guetta, Stevie Nicks, Kimberly Caldwell and Ellie Goulding. Their songs didn’t receive enough votes to stay in the mix, and we had to send them packing!

So how does this all work? If you’re a Weekly Top Ten virgin, hold onto Rafael Alencar‘s ginormous schlong while I explain the rules to you. Each week you’ll be presented with ten songs. You get to vote for any and all that you’d like to see move on to the next week. From those results, we’ll take the five tunes with the highest percentages, a song we save and four other contributions. These selections will make up the following week’s charts.

Wishing there was a “none of the above” option? Well, quit your bitching and tell us what you want to see on the charts by leaving a suggestion in the comments. We listen to nearly every song you recommend, and if we think it’ll have a chance… you might see it here next time around!

To check out the charts and cast your vote, follow the JUMP:

  1. Pink – Fuckin’ Perfect (LW – 7, W2): After rocking our charts with her last single “Raise Your Glass”, it looks like Pink has done it again! We’re hoping this won’t be her only number one. “Fuckin’ Perfect” has moved up to eleventh place on Billboard’s Hot 100, and it’s still selling like hotcakes on iTunes. Let’s hope the airplay catches up soon. She deserves another big hit!
  2. Britney Spears – Hold It Against Me (LW – 1, W3): The early excitement over “Hold It Against Me” died down fast, but there’s a chance it’ll be reignited with the debut of the Jonas Akerlund-directed music video. Plus, the remixes have started to flow in, and that should definitely give this an extra boost at the clubs. What do you think? Can Brit make a comeback?
  3. Adele – Rolling In The Deep (LW – 3, W8): Adele’s 21 has been getting rave reviews from critics, and we’re not surprised at all. Keep your eyes peeled for her second single “Set Fire To The Rain”, which has been said to be the singer’s best attempt at a “gay anthem”. Clearly, she has a good sense of her audience…
  4. Katy Perry – Firework (LW – 2, W9): I’ve kind of developed a soft spot for this song, after watching a certain hot hipster dude lip-synch the lyrics in the middle of an Apple Store. Albeit it’s a very small soft spot, but a soft spot nonetheless! Katy slips two spots this week. Do I have to talk trash for her to be successful?
  5. Florence + The Machine – Dog Days Are Over (LW – 4, W6): Florence drops to her lowest position yet, continuing a steady decline towards elimination. If this song hadn’t been kicking around for over two years, we’d like to think it would have fared better on our charts. Alas, there’s always the next single!
  6. Cher – You Haven’t Seen The Last of Me (LW – 5, W11): This might be the last you see of Cher, provided you don’t vote her back into the top five. Doesn’t she deserve to be there? After getting snubbed by the Oscars and having a brief Twitter meltdown, she could definitely use some love right now.
  7. Jennifer Hudson – Where You At (DEBUT): Though the general consensus seems to be this is an “okay” R&B track, we’ve all heard much better from Ms. Hudson. Where’s the fire we heard on the Dreamgirls soundtrack? We’re going to reserve judgment until her sophomore album comes out, but…
  8. Savage Skulls & Douster f/ Robyn – Bad Gal (DEBUT): Confession time! We were secretly rooting for Alexis Jordan’s “Good Girl” in our recent competition. However, we’re willing to settle for this bumpin’ dance track by Savage Skulls and Douster. If Swedish pop star Robyn is involved, then you know it’s got to be good.
  9. Lykke Li – I Follow Rivers (DEBUT): Speaking of awesome Swedes, we thought it’d be fair to give this talented singer-songwriter a chance on the charts. It’s only fair, considering we previously overlooked her last single “Get Some”. And did we mention the guy in her video is kind of attractive? In an imperfect way that’s somehow perfect in a whole other way. Oh, you know what we mean!
  10. Martin Solveig f/ Dragonette – Hello (WILD CARD): The Wild Card round was pretty pathetic this week. There were only eighty-nine total votes! You can’t even blame us for choosing shitty songs, because you were the ones who made the recommendations. Either way, Martin Solveig came out on top. But it doesn’t look good for him in the long run.

  1. katy perry and cher are only two songs on that list i’m willing to vote for —- don’t mind “fuckin’ perfect” as a song, but the video absolutely ruined it for me; can’t even listen now

  2. This week the votes went to Katy Perry’s instant classic – Firework, Adele’s Rolling in the Deep and I had to give my support to the outstanding Oscar winning, Grammy winning American Idol finalist, Jennifer Hudson!

  3. I went for the first 6 songs and the one by Martin Solveig. My suggestion for next week is still the one from last week, “S&M” by Rihanna. The song is playing on the radio and the video will be dropping sometime next week.

  4. I had to continue my voting streak with Katy Perry. I threw in my vote for Pink, who’s on a fucking roll if you ask me, and Jennifer Hudson. Music that I can actually enjoy!

  5. Cher, Adele, Katy, Pink, Florence, Britney……
I still want to see Jessie J back here, either with Do it like a dude or her new single with B.O.B. called Price Tag. It was serviced to American radio last week and it’s the first single of her album that is coming out in the US in April.

  6. I would still like to see the following on here:

    Chris Brown – Yeah x 3
    Rihanna – S&M
Jennifer Lopez – On The Floor

  7. None of these songs seem to be any competition for the top 5 favorites…

How about bringing on Kylie’s Get Outta My now that it is in heavy rotation on VH1?

  8. hey I would like to recommend a song for the next top ten: “Shine” by Ricky Martin. Its much more danceable and clubby? than the first single…he even performed it at an LGBT event…anyway, u can listen to it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKsOd6fuOFg

personally i prefer the Spanish version “TeVas”, but thats how I feel about songs from Shakira and Enrique Iglesias also cause usually artists somehow sound better in their native or first language lol

  9. I don’t know why people feel bad for Britney. She has had more opportunities than most to deliver. She has never stepped up to the plate. She had a chance with Blackout, but was too sketched out to make that album a massive hit.

I honestly think people want her to succeed, but this song just doesn’t have it. I am hoping her next single is better.

As for the countdown, I am sure Rihanna will be on it for sure, so let’s see:

Jennifer Lopez – On The Floor (is there a version without pitbull??)

Also, Katy Perry has a new one out – “ET (Futuristic Lover).” This may be a good song to debut on aural only.
