Weekly Top Ten: Whitney Makes A Comeback

Weekly Top Ten-1

Now that's you've chosen Lady Gaga's "LoveGame" as your Song of Summer, we're going to move forward with MANHUNT Daily's Weekly Top Ten. And for the record, our Song of Summer was David Guetta and Kelly Rowland's "When Love Takes Over". Not that we're bitter or anything.

When we last visited the charts, Shakira was dominating for her fourth consecutive week, Miley Cyrus was jumping into the top five and your love for Lady Gaga was refusing to fade away. We'll be picking it up from there, including a triumphant return by Ms. Whitney Houston.

The rules are the same as before, though I'll explain them again for any first-timers. Each week you'll be presented with ten songs. You get to vote for up to three moving to the next week. From those results, we'll take the five jams with the highest percentages, a song we saved and four other contributions. These selections will make up the following week's charts.

If you don't see your favorite song on the list, leave a comment suggesting it for next week. We listen to nearly every song you recommend, and if we think it'll have a chance to charm your fellow dick-lovers' ears… we'll be sure to include it!

– Dewitt

To see this week's charts and vote, follow the JUMP:

  1. Shakira – She Wolf (LW – 1): Within these charts very short history, Shakira becomes the first artist to spend five consecutive weeks in the number one spot. We're still not getting tired of this tale of pent-up sexual energy, so we imagine it'll be around for a while.
  2. Lady Gaga – LoveGame (LW – 2): Now that it's your Song of Summer, can you please let it go somewhere else for now? We mean no disrespect to Gaga, but this one's not looking so fresh right now.
  3. Miley Cyrus – Party in the U.S.A. (LW – 5): Miley currently has one of the most popular songs in the country. Is it possible that she could creep up and steal Shakira's thunder?
  4. Cascada – Evacuate the Dancefloor (LW – 4): I'm still rocking this one as a guilty pleasure, though it's beginning to lose its magic. But forget about my feelings! This one seems doomed to perpetually be stuck at the number four spot.
  5. Lady Gaga – Paparazzi (LW – 3): Please see the second sentence of item number two. Then again, if this video doesn't win an MTV VMA, we are seriously going to cut some bitches.
  6. Little Boots – Remedy (LW – 6): Since this one tied Miley, it's not necessarily being saved. Does Victoria have what it takes to stay in the competition?
  7. Whitney Houston – Million Dollar Bill (RETURN): From Oprah to Asbury Park, Whitney's been on our radar like crazy. And how about the booty-popping remix version? We can't get enough!
  8. La Roux – I'm Not Your Toy (DEBUT): This one's really growing on me! La Roux surprised us last time by lasting three weeks on the charts, so perhaps she can surprise us again? Your voting will make a difference on this one.
  9. VV Brown – Game Over (DEBUT): From the retro-throwback feel to the outstanding video costumes, we're really feeling this jam. It's been heating up the gay blogosphere recently. Let's see if it can heat up our charts!
  10. Mariah Carey – I Want To Know What Love Is (DEBUT): Forget about knowing what love is. I want to know if Mariah's fans are even enjoying this tepid Foreigner cover. Maybe a dance remix could save this? Something with Young Jeezy?

  1. I have to admit I’m really gay but damn there are gayer guys than me apparently… miley cyrus? seriously? wtf. that bish is annoying as fuck

  2. OK. Good for Lady Gaga getting the song of the summer and I am glad to see lots of ladies in this chart, but give a guy a chance. How ’bout the new Robbie Williams single: “Bodies”. At least give it a listen and hopefully we’ll see it here at least for one week.

  3. Miley Cyrus is just white trash…no voice what so ever! I hope whitney can stay sober long enough to keep her comeback going!

  4. Seriously, you most of the people here couldn’t tell a good song to listen to from well a good f&#k. Again, mostly over produced and under-rated. When are the good song going to be on this list.

  5. I agree, Robbie Williams “Bodies” should be in the charts.
    How about Alphabeat’s “The Spell”?

  6. Entertainment Weekly said that Mariah has hit the bullseye with her cover stating, “Mariah + Gospel Choir + I want to know what love is = Ecstacy”
This heartfelt and rousing rendition has the potential to be a welcome cross-over smash for one of the biggest hitmakers of all time.
People love what she does. And she does it better than everybody else.

  7. i’d like to suggest a song by mexican pop singer, paulina rubio. it’s from her recent album, gran city pop, that was released on june 24th. the song is “causa y efecto (remix dj george figares)(club mix radio edit).” i think the song was up there, for me, with “when love takes over” which i think was the song of the summer! thanks!
