Weekly Top Ten Wild Card: Battle of The Sexes

After neglecting the Wild Card round for this past Saturday’s Weekly Top Ten countdown, we’ve opted to kick off the week with a cheeky Battle of The Sexes. Everyone knows our charts are primarily dominated by female artists, so it seems like Shakira or Nicki Minaj might have the upper hand in this competition.

But can the penises make a comeback? Maroon 5‘s Adam Levine makes a good argument in favor of this output, spending the majority of his music video without a shirt. And we can’t rule out today’s blatant underdog, Hunx and His Punx! You’ve been known to surprise us in the past, and he’s quite the looker in our opinion…

Well, you know the drill by now! Only one of these songs can appear on this weekend’s countdown, and it’s up to you to vote for the best. Will you side with good or evil? Testosterone or estrogen? Funny faces or naked dudes? So many decisions!

– Dewitt

To listen to these selections and cast your vote, follow the JUMP:

Shakira – Sale El Sol: This isn’t “She Wolf” or “Hips Don’t Lie”. Hell, it’s not even “Loca”! However, taking all of that into account, this Spanish ballad from Shakira’s latest album is still quite good. And we still stand that the entire project is highly underrated.

Maroon 5 – Never Gonna Leave This Bed: Look, we’d love to snuggle up naked in bed with Maroon 5’s lead singer Adam Levine, but can he please serenade us with a song that doesn’t suck? Let’s get this pop-rock atrocity off our minds by looking at his naked pictures.

Nicki Minaj f/ Drake – Moment 4 Life: In which Nicki Minaj takes an otherwise mediocre song from her perfectly disappointing debut album and creates a thoroughly enjoyable music video. Word up to Martha, the fairy godmother. Those facial expressions are so priceless that I could have endured a track as weak as “Dear Old Nicki” for this.

Hunx and His Punx – Lovers Lane: Remember the old days when people used to make out in cars at places called “Lovers Lane” and crap? Yeah, we don’t entirely mind that they’re obsolete at this point, because we’d rather just log on to Manhunt and get our dicks sucked. With that said, we really like the retro sound of this song, brought to us by former Gravy Train!!!! member Seth Bogart.

  1. I will happily disagree with you when you write “…but can he please serenade us with a song that doesn’t suck? Let’s get this pop-rock atrocity off our minds by looking…”

“Never Gonna Leave This Bed” is a great track, off of a great album.

  2. Hunx and His Punx??? The Shangri-La’s and “Leader Of The Pack” is reborn! Hallelujah! Gotta vote for this one!

  3. I love “Moment 4 Life”, the video is cool, Martha cracks me up at the beginning. Drake is cute as always.

  4. I agree. “Misery” was an amazing track, but “Never Gonna Leave This Bed” was the song that I couldn’t stop listening to. It’s a fun, romantic pop track and I think it got seriously overlooked. Thank you for posting it and I hope it makes it on the top ten!

  5. Ok this song is kinda old (last year) but i totally forgot to pitch it for the top 10 and I haven’t seen it here before. It’s a little Aussie gem called Big Jet Plane by Angus & Julia Stone – definitely a pleaser for those who want some “real music” =)

Hey Florence made it onto the countdown 2 years after craking it in the UK, give us aussies a chance!

  6. dewitt, get the fuck over your hate for Pink Friday already…it’s still at number 3 after being out for like 2 months so obviously someone likes it…
she was capable of more but it’s still a decent album so stop your whining.

  7. I voted for Shakira because the countdown needs to be spiced up with a little more international flavor.
