Gay marriage was intended to be the very first item voted on in today’s New York Senate session, so what exactly happened? Senator Ruben Diaz, who happens to be a fan of Liza Minnelli and has two gay brothers, planned to do something “big” to prevent the vote from happening… but it seems like he didn’t have to resort to such measures.
The Senate was adjourned after approximately five minutes, and obviously no vote occurred. Are you kidding me? A new poll shows that fifty-one percent of New York voters are in support of marriage equality, yet the Senate just can’t get their shit together to give the people what they want. As Liz Lemon would say, “Blurgh!”
