After a decent amount of hesitation, I was eventually convinced to give Fox’s new crime drama The Following a chance. Shows like this aren’t usually my cup of tea, so it was almost a given that I’d fall asleep in the first few minutes… Yet, oddly enough, I wound up liking it? The literary references were really what won me over. You see, much like RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant Serena ChaCha, I read books. The allusions to Edgar Allan Poe‘s work, while occasionally obvious and/or forced, brought an interesting edge to the plot.
I may or may not also have a giant crush on James Purefoy, the guy who plays serial killer/cult leader Joe Carroll. Trust me, that’s not as twisted as it sounds! I don’t want him to gouge my eyes out with a grapefruit spoon. I just want him to double-penetrate me with a nightstick in a prison shower or something. You know! Normal stuff that every gay man’s into…
