During a panel at Outfest, openly gay director Todd Holland advised young male actors to "stay in the closet" if they wish to be successful in Hollywood. Kirby Dick, the director of political documentary Outrage, didn't agree with this comment and replied, "I know where you're coming from, but it's a regressive argument." Holland asserted that he was just being realistic.
Dick went on to say he believed that if "an A-list actor came out, it would have more impact on the culture than an A-list politician." While I appreciate his sentiment, I think it's a little ridiculous to assume that Brad Pitt coming out would have more of a cultural impact than Barack Obama doing so. And no, I am not implying that either man is remotely gay.
Since coming out should be a personal process, I understand why outing celebrities is such a touchy topic. With that said, most of these guys would probably be out if their industry didn't encourage them to lie. I do agree with Dick in one respect–an A-List actor coming out would flip the culture of the entertainment industry upside down. It'd show that a man can be open about his sexuality without being pigeonholed into certain roles. If it's all just acting, what's wrong with a gay man playing straight and passionately snogging the hell out of Reese Witherspoon? It'd certainly give a new meaning to the term "straight acting"…

For this terrible fake nude uncensored, follow the JUMP:
I would luv to SUCK OFF Zac Efron, and give him the BLOW JOB he will never get from any woman.
I’d like to see the original picture, without Zac’s face… that’s a mighty tasty looking cock! Link please! >:)
An A-list actor coming out WOULD make a much bigger impression than an A-list politician. You just happened to choose the one glaring exception in Obama.
Most A-list politicians are people like Orrin Hatch, Frank Lautenberg, Charlie Crist, etc. who have a lot of power, and are known to a number of people, but aren’t exactly in the limelight the way that actors like Brad Pitt and George Clooney are.
Do you really think Orrin Hatch coming out would get as much attention as someone like Pitt or Clooney?
I just want to know why everytime Zac and Lucas are ‘pictured’ nude together, they always give Zac the bigger dick? I’m willing to bet Mr. Grabeel has a much larger package.
I don’t think a picture of Orrin Hatch & Frank Launtenberg frollicing around naked on a beach will have the same impact as George Cloney & Brad Pitt. Do U ?
I love how you say “And no, I am not implying that either man is remotely gay.” whe talking about Brad Pitt or Obama, yet you have Zac Efron & Lucas Grabeel’s face photoshopped onto other guys bodies obviously implying something there…
Tsk tsk tsk…
Ultimately, it is all about choice.
Yeah, an A-List celebrity coming out would definitely add some credence to the adage that “gays are everywhere and come in all types”… However, I think it rather unfair for anyone to say that it would somehow not ruin — or at least in some way negatively affect — the career of an A-List celebrity… Much of the male celebrities’ success is predicated on female viewers being physically and emotionally attracted to them. Brad Pitt being gay would crush a lot of fantasies and thus would definitely affect his overall popularity. And, though, his subsequent movies would probably get plenty of gay viewers, I would really think that the women would stop flowing to the theaters.
I mean it has to start somewhere but I really doubt we would ever have an influx of actors coming out! Sad but true! And I think if you are in the limelight, one should be very strategic and mindful of what their future will hold if they come out. I am glad that I don’t have to make those tough choices.
