“Sacrilege” sounds good on paper—Karen O of Yeah Yeah Yeahs wailing passionately over whirling guitars and a backing choir. These are all things my ears like! A lot.
Yet despite my extreme weakness for virtually any song with a gospel breakdown, I’ve never rolled out of bed and felt a strong urge to listen to this. The problem isn’t that I don’t like it… It’s just that, well, I don’t love it as much as I want to. Because of this, I’ve found myself playing it over and over again, hoping that something will click and bring me aural bliss.
While it still hasn’t happened at this point, I consider “Sacrilege” a promising lead-in for the band’s upcoming fourth album Mosquito. Now if only we could do something about that damn cover art.

This video made me uneasy but did anyone else notice the priest has a nice body on him?
(I was going to comment on that, but it felt sleazy to talk about his banging bikini body given the developments within.)
I have no shame.
